Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, and his wife Akshata Murty’s fortune have decreased over the past year, but at 529 million pounds ($668 million), he is still insulated from the cost-of-living problem that dominates the UK’s political agenda.

Due to the decline in the value of their investment in Infosys, the Indian IT giant established by Murty’s father, the couple has fallen from 222nd to 275th place on the list of richest people.

According to the information, the prime minister of the United Kingdom is entitled to an annual salary of about 165,000 pounds. When he came the PM last October, his income jumped from the general lawmaker rate. The decrease in his fortune from the set 730 million pounds last year to 529 pounds in 2023 was not, however, cushioned by this.

According to the sources, Sunak is the richest ever occupant of No.10 Downing Street but has said people should not hold his wealth against him. “I think in our country, we judge people not by their bank account, we judge them by their character and their actions. And yes, I’m fortunate to be in the situation I’m in now, but I wasn’t born like this,” Sunak said last year.

Due to her “non-domiciled” tax status, which allowed her to avoid paying British taxes on her income earned overseas, Sunak’s wife last year received criticism and backlash from the public in April. She later renounced the status and said that she would pay British tax on her worldwide income.
