The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has identified these three accused as Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh and Karan Brar. The trio have now been charged with first degree muder and conspiracy to commit murder in relation to the homicide.

Accused are identified as Indian nationals

Court documents revealed that Karanpreet Singh, Kamalpreet Singh and Karan Brar are charged with the murder and conspiracy to murder Nijjar. A Global News report identified the suspects as Indian citizens. The report said, 'Canadian police detained Indian nationals on Friday morning, almost a year after Nijjar was shot dead.' Citing sources, it was said that the suspects had entered Canada on student visas, but they may have been acting on the instructions of Indian intelligence when they shot Nijjar.

According to sources, three persons have been arrested and they are accused of acting as shooter, driver etc. on the day Nijjar was murdered outside the Gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia.
Meanwhile, the three men were detained on the morning of May 3 by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) of Surrey, RCMP, along with members of the British Columbia and Alberta RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service.

Jagmeet Singh alleges Indian govt

Canada's New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh has again alleged an Indian government hand in the killing of India-designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar despite police personnel not giving any evidence.

Connection with ISI

Indian officials familiar with the development said that the three who were named as accused were living in Canada and were involved in the drug trade and were connected to Pakistan spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

India denied any role

India has always denied any role in the execution of Nijjar, calling the accusations made against it "abusurd and motivated."
