It is important to note that concerns were mounting about Biden's viability after his devastating performance in Atlanta, according to a New York Times (NYT) report. According to the NYT report, President Biden has spoken with a close ally that he may stick with the campaign, realizing that it would be difficult to salvage his reputation after a poor showing in the presidential debate.
On Wednesday, Jean-Pierre emphasised President Biden's recent interactions with supporters, stating that although he has faced difficult times, his record and achievements as a whole should not be minimized.
“He got the chance to speak with his followers. He has now done it a few times, explaining what transpired that evening and expressing his understanding that it wasn't his best night. She told reporters at the White House. He recognizes that it is reasonable for people to pose that issue,” she said.
Noteworthy here is that the statement from the Press Secretary has come days after Donald Trump and Joe Biden got engaged in a fiery debate broadcast live on CNN, and also amid ongoing scrutiny and debates about the president’s performance and plans.
Meanwhile, the United States is scheduled to go under polls by the end of the year and the winner will serve a four-year term in the White House.
