Aiming to reduce the 30-day processing period for work licenses for employees in the private sector, the Dubai government introduced the 'Work Bundle' digital platform. It used to take up to 30 days to secure work permits and resident visas, and a large stack of 16 documents needed to be submitted.

To make the process of getting work permits and resident visas easier, the UAE has developed a webpage. The Work Bundle reduces these requirements by requesting only five documents from applicants and cutting the processing time down to just five days.

Work Bundle

The Work Bundle is a new platform that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) introduced on Tuesday in an effort to streamline and accelerate the application process for resident visas and work permits. With the help of this platform, businesses and job seekers in Dubai should have an easier time finding possibilities.

UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed's statements:

The Prime Minister explains that the goal of the platform is to simplify the process for businesses and job seekers looking for work in Dubai.

Save time

It used to take up to 30 days to secure work permits and resident visas, and a large stack of 16 documents needed to be submitted. According to a story in the Khaleej Times, it now lessens these constraints by cutting the processing time to only five days and requiring applicants to provide just five documents.

In addition, the applicant's time and effort will be spared since the number of mandatory trips to visa centers has been reduced from seven to just two days. The process made easier will encourage more people to apply.

Indian expats in Dubai

With almost 30% of the population, Indians make up the largest ethnic group in the United Arab Emirates. According to UAE government figures, there were an estimated 3.5 million Indian residents in the UAE in 2021.

About 20% of the Indian population resides in Abu Dhabi, with the remaining 75% residing in the 6 Northern Emirates, which includes Dubai. Approximately 10% of the Indian population consists of dependent family members, despite the fact that the majority of Indians residing here work.

Additionally, a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Indians was introduced by Dubai in February. Indian citizens can benefit from this by having repeated entries into Dubai over a period of five years, with a maximum stay of ninety days per term.

How was it implemented?

Work Bundle's efficiency is derived from combining the processes of the many government agencies that are engaged in granting visas. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization are included in this.

These new package services enable businesses to use them to swiftly finish transactions, such as payments made using an Emirates ID for authentication and the provision of excellent amenities that perfectly capture the speed at which the Emirates are going digital. Applicant interactions with numerous agencies are eliminated by the Work Bundle, which unifies these procedures under a single platform.

Motivation behind Work Bundle

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, remarked that the digital transformation is being implemented to pull more companies to UAE. Presently, the Work Bundle platform is being introduced in Dubai, with intentions to expand into more emirates in the future.
