The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) says that it has deployed several Navy's missile ships in the Gulf of Eilat in the Red Sea. The response came after Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen attacked Israel with missiles and drones.

According to the IDF, the military intercepted two drones and a missile which was launched from Yemen. Another target was intercepted this morning near the southernmost city of Eilat in Israel.

The IDF says the vessels were deployed yesterday as per the requirement of the tense situation to increase the defense efforts in the area.

The IDF clarified it has several layers of air defenses in the area to protect against Houthi attacks. The US Navy ships are also deployed in the Red Sea region which also intercepted several Houthi missiles.

A video was shared on microblogging platform X, in which the arrival of the boats can be seen. The caption reads, "The IDF releases footage of Israeli Navy missile boats arriving in the area of the Red Sea after Iran-backed Houthi terrorists launched drones and missiles toward the area in an attempt to hit Israel".
