A series of powerful tornadoes struck the Dallas area and other parts of North Texas over the weekend, resulting in significant destruction and casualties. Four tornadoes have been confirmed, with the most severe being classified as EF-3. These tornadoes caused widespread damage, including uprooted trees, overturned vehicles, and destroyed buildings.

This storm impacted areas such as Valley View and Ray Roberts Lake, where emergency responders worked to rescue trapped individuals.

The videos that surfaced on social media show how devastating the tornado was.

The severe weather, which began on weekend night, also caused power outages and forced the closure of several roads and highways due to debris and overturned vehicles. In Denton County, multiple injuries were reported, and emergency shelters were opened for those displaced by the storm.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that this is not the first time when America has faced climate disasters. Reportedly, on average 1,200 tornados hit the US each year. The one reported in 2011, was among one of the major devastating tornados which killed over 300 people in a single day. Not only this, in 2023, the heat claimed more lives as compared to tornados.
