On Saturday, the United Nations warned that expelling Afghans from Pakistan forcibly might result in serious human rights violations, including severing family ties and expelling children.

Here’s more on the matter

In a recent announcement, Pakistan warned migrants residing there illegally—including 1.7 million Afghans—to leave the nation by October 31 to avoid being detained in large numbers and deported.

The administration asserts that Afghans are not a target and that all illegal immigrants are given equal attention. It declared that it is establishing a hotline and rewarding anyone who informs authorities about such immigration.

UN speaks

According to UN agencies, Afghanistan is experiencing a grave humanitarian crisis and a number of rights issues, particularly for women and girls who are prohibited by the Taliban from pursuing education beyond the sixth grade, from most public locations, and from numerous occupations.

“Such plans would have serious implications for all who have been forced to leave the country and may face serious protection risks upon return,” it said, referring to Pakistan’s crackdown.
