Ukraine, the angry Kiev officer accused of forced surrender

France's Europe Minister Benjamin Haddad also criticised the decision, saying, "If you want peace, does the decision to stop supplying arms to Ukraine promote peace or does it push it further away? It pushes it further away because it only strengthens the hand of the aggressor Russia."

International News. Russia Ukraine War: The  Ukrainian government has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump's decision to stop military aid to Ukraine. A top official warned that this move could push Kiev towards surrender to Russia. The chairman of Ukraine's parliamentary foreign affairs committee told news agency Reuters, "This halt to aid looks very bad. It seems that he is pushing Kiev towards surrender.

Trump's decision and its impact on Ukraine

The decision, announced by a White House official on Monday (3 February), comes as Trump steps up pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate peace with Russia. The sudden suspension of military aid has sparked concern in Kiev and its European allies, as it could affect Ukraine's defence against a Russian invasion.

Escalation of tension

Trump, who has long been skeptical of long-term US military aid to Ukraine, had not ruled out a possible freeze on it. However, when the halt was confirmed, it shocked officials in both Kyiv and Washington.

Zelensky's response and concerns of  allies

At the White House, Trump expressed his disappointment with Zelensky, saying the Ukrainian leader should be more “grateful” for US aid. He also warned that if a ceasefire agreement with Russia was not reached, Zelensky “won’t be in power much longer.”To this Zelensky responded cautiously, “We are committed to ending the war as soon as possible, but the peace talks must contain strong security guarantees for Ukraine.

Tension of european countries

The US decision to halt the aid has triggered emergency discussions among European leaders. Britain and France are exploring the possibility of brokering a month-long ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia in order to provide military support to enforce the truce.  France's Europe Minister Benjamin Haddad also criticised the decision, saying, "If you want peace, does the decision to stop supplying arms to Ukraine promote peace or does it push it further away? It pushes it further away because it only strengthens the hand of the aggressor Russia."
