Two Malaysian Navy helicopters collide mid-air during rehearsal; 10 killed | Watch Video

Ten people were killed on Tuesday when two helicopters of the Malaysian Navy collided in mid-air during a rehearsal.  The incident took place at 9: 32 AM and all 10 were crew members.

According to reports, one of the helicopters, a HOM M503-3, was carrying seven people and it crashed on a running track after a mid-air collision. Meanwhile, the Fennec M502-6 helicopter flying with three other people crashed into a nearby swimming pool.

Navy's 90th anniversary

The helicopters were training at a naval base in northern Perak state for celebrations of the navy's 90th anniversary next month when the crash occurred, the Navy said in a brief statement, according to the AP.

It said that all the passengers were confirmed dead on the spot. He said the remains have been sent to the hospital for identification.
