The army claimed that Arkadas would be trained by the same trainer who looked after the deceased dog named Proteo. At an army base in Mexico City, Arkadas was officially welcomed to the squad in front of the standing human and canine team members while wearing a green cushioned harness and a little Mexican flag. The excited puppy barked as the Mexican anthem played. “I promise to be an excellent search and rescue dog,” Arkadas remarked in a tweet sent by the Mexican defence ministry, thanking his Mexican friends for their kind welcome.
