This revelation follows an interview conducted by Musk with Trump on his social media platform, X. During the interview, Trump praised Musks innovations in the automotive industry, acknowledging that while not everyone may be ready to switch to electric vehicles, Musk produces great products.Change in allegiancesAccording to The Washington Post, Musk had initially supported President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. However, his stance shifted after an assassination attempt on Trump, leading Musk to express his full support for the former president on X, writing, I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.Trumps stance on electric vehiclesIn a separate conversation with Reuters on Monday, Trump expressed his general skepticism about tax breaks and credits but mentioned he hasnt made any final decisions regarding the $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit, which Biden has since increased. Im a big fan of gasoline-propelled cars, and also hybrids and whatever else happens to come along, Trump said, though he also noted his appreciation for electric vehicles.Musks response and potential roleEarlier this year, Musk denied having discussions with Trump about a role in a potential second term.
