Trump refuses to deport Prince Harry, calls Meghan ‘Terrible’

Washington, D.C.: Despite his administration’s aggressive stance on illegal immigration, US President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting Prince Harry, whose visa status has been under legal scrutiny. Speaking to The New York Post, Trump dismissed any possibility of expelling the British royal, stating, "I don't want to do that. I'll leave him alone. He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible."

Prince Harry’s visa controversy

The controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s US visa stems from a lawsuit filed by the Heritage Foundation against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The conservative think tank has raised concerns over whether Harry truthfully disclosed his past drug use in his visa application. His autobiography, ‘Spare’, details his past experiences with cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics, prompting questions about potential special treatment from the Biden administration.

Nile Gardiner, a spokesperson for the Heritage Foundation, emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, "Anyone applying to the US must be truthful on their application, and it’s unclear whether that’s the case with Prince Harry."

Trump’s relationship with the royals

Donald Trump’s comments highlight his long-standing friction with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Markle has previously criticized Trump, calling him "divisive" and "misogynistic," while Trump has repeatedly mocked Harry, suggesting that he is "whipped" by Meghan.

Meanwhile, Trump has expressed admiration for Prince William, whom he met privately in Paris in December 2024 during the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral. Calling the future King of England a "great young man," Trump’s praise of William further contrasts with his dismissive remarks about Harry.

The Heritage Foundation has also suggested that Harry may have received preferential treatment from the Biden administration due to his high profile. Since moving to California in 2020 following "Megxit", Prince Harry and Meghan have faced persistent scrutiny over their immigration status, media dealings, and royal tensions.
