Governor visited the hospitalized victims

In response to the crisis, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya promptly mobilized a substantial rescue effort, dispatching scores of personnel to the site. Their swift action was critical in tending to the wounded and securing the area amid the aftermath. Izmir Governor Suleyman Elban, visibly affected by the calamity, visited the hospitalized victims to offer solace and updates. Remarkably, 40 individuals had already been discharged, testament to the efficiency of the emergency response.

One suspect detained 

Amidst the grief and relief efforts, authorities moved decisively, detaining a suspect linked to the incident. The man in question had reportedly replaced the propane tank just a day before the explosion, raising suspicions about possible negligence or malintent. As investigations unfold, questions swirl about the circumstances leading to the tragic event and the measures in place to prevent such occurrences.

Mayor affirmed in statement 

Dr. Cemil Tugay, Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, affirmed in a statement that ongoing efforts would address the aftermath of the tragedy. He stated, "Our teams are actively engaged in necessary operations. We have initiated efforts to fulfill all requirements for our citizens affected in the area, including arrangements for temporary accommodations."

Five individuals are being treated in hospitals 

Regarding the casualties, Tugay mentioned that several injured individuals were currently receiving medical attention at hospitals nearby. He specified, "A number of injured individuals are receiving treatment; some at Torbalı State Hospital, others at private hospitals in Torbalı, and five individuals are being treated in hospitals in Izmir."

Buildings evacuated 

Torbalı Mayor Övünç Demir further elaborated on the situation, highlighting ongoing evacuation efforts and offering prayers for the victims of the incident. He expressed, "We are evacuating buildings, and our Metropolitan Municipality is actively coordinating accommodations and providing social support."

Explosion was caused by an industrial cylinder 

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Münir Karaloğlu later confirmed that the explosion was caused by an industrial cylinder. He expressed condolences, saying, "May God grant mercy to our citizens who lost their lives due to the explosion caused by an industrial cylinder at a restaurant in Torbalı, Izmir. I extend my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our injured." The coordinated response from local authorities underscored their commitment to manage the crisis and support those affected by the tragic events in Izmir.
