Tyler Wilson, a 26-year-old mother, has opened up about the struggles that come with her career as an adult content creator, a profession that earns her approximately £12,000 per month. However, her journey has not been without challenges—she has received death threats, her son was expelled from school, and even her car was vandalized.
Wilson’s life took a drastic turn in 2019 after a severe car accident. At the time, she was working as a real estate agent when the crash left her with broken ribs, a fractured spine, and a shattered collarbone. She spent a month in the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries until May 2022, making it impossible for her to return to work.
To sustain herself financially, Wilson turned to OnlyFans (OF), where she began creating adult content. Within her first month, she was able to fund a trip to Disney World for her 10-year-old son, with her fans contributing nearly £100 per day. However, the darker side of her newfound career soon became apparent.
A podcast clip featuring Wilson went viral on TikTok, triggering a wave of backlash. Soon after, she began receiving death threats, and police were frequently called to her home. The controversy escalated further when her son was expelled from school and her car was damaged.
“In just a week after the video went viral, the police visited multiple times, I had to withdraw my son from school, and someone even vandalized my car. I felt incredibly vulnerable and unsafe,” Wilson shared.
Wilson now faces significant challenges in finding traditional employment. She worries that potential employers would refuse to hire her upon discovering her content.
“I’m stuck in a position where I either have to go viral again to boost my income or collaborate with another creator—something I don’t want to do,” she explained.
When Wilson first joined OnlyFans in August 2022, she treated it like Facebook, messaging people directly to build her business. She quickly realized she needed to share her link on anonymous social media accounts to attract subscribers. As a result, her income surged from £800 per month to £700 per week.
In February 2023, riding the wave of financial success, Wilson accepted an invitation to a podcast that debated OnlyFans' impact. The video went viral within hours of being posted on TikTok, leading to relentless trolling. Some critics accused her of “ruining” her son’s life.
For three weeks, the viral controversy dominated Wilson’s life. To escape the harassment, she and her son relocated and enrolled him in a new school.
“The police were called to my house so often in just one week due to ‘child abuse’ reports—it was absurd,” Wilson revealed.
Ultimately, she decided to stop actively posting on OnlyFans, though her past content continues to generate an income of around £3,000-£4,000 per week. Despite her efforts to move forward, she still faces significant challenges in rebuilding her life.
