Remarkable journey of devotion

IAS officer Supriya Sahu, previously serving as ACS Environment, Climate Change & Forest, highlighted this inspiring story on social media. Sharing the details, she captioned, "If Humans Can Go Miles for Love, So Can Tigers." Boris, the tiger at the heart of this tale, was a rescued cub raised alongside Svetlaya in a semi-wild environment. Scientists prepared the tigers for life in the wilderness while minimizing human interaction.

Separated by over 100 miles upon their release into the wild, Boris and Svetlaya lived apart for years. Yet, defying all odds, Boris embarked on a 120-mile journey to reconnect with his childhood companion.

A joyful reunion and new beginnings

Boris’s dedication culminated in an emotional reunion with Svetlaya, marking a beautiful new chapter in their lives. Six months later, their bond bore fruit as Svetlaya gave birth to a litter of cubs. This heartwarming story reflects the enduring power of love and resilience, transcending species and boundaries.
