South Korea: According to the media reports, Lee Jae-Myung was stabbed on the left side of his neck by an unidentified man wielding a weapon while touring the proposed airport site in Busan.

South Korea: In a shocking incident, Lee Jae-Myung, the leader of South Korea’s opposition party was stabbed in the neck by an unidentified assailant during his visit to the southern port city of Busan today (January 2), the media reports said.

According to the media reports, Lee was stabbed on the left side of his neck by an unidentified man wielding a weapon while touring the proposed airport site in Busan. The assailant was subdued and then was apprehended at the scene of the incident.

A video of this shocking incident, which is now taking rounds on the internet, shows the leader talking to the reporters before he was stabbed by an unknown person in the crowd.

Several photographs and visuals depicted Lee on the ground, eyes closed with others applying pressure to the side of his neck using a handkerchief.

Following the attack, Lee was promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention, the report added.
