A heart-wrenching incident took place in Romania, when two explosions occurred at a liquefied petroleum gas station in Crevedia, near Bucharest, killing one and 33 others were injured.

Fire explosion in Romania

According to the Agency of Emergencies (IGSU), after the first explosion, the fire spread to two tanks and a nearby house, causing evacuations within a radius of 300 meters and a blockage of road traffic.

To douse the fire, almost 25 fire engines were deployed, said IGSU. Meanwhile, four people were intubated after suffering severe burns, as per the health ministry.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Interior Minister Raed Arafat said that a second explosion took place at the LPG station on Saturday evening injuring 26 firefighters.

More explosions could happen

He further added that the fire had not yet been extinguished and more explosions could happen as a third tank at the site posed a risk.
