In Pakistan, Supreme Court judges make more money than the president, prime minister, ministers, federal secretaries, and lawmakers, according to reports. According to data supplied to the Public Accounts Committee, the Chief Justice of Pakistan is paid the most, followed by Supreme Court justices, the President, and the Prime Minister, who is paid less than ministers and federal secretaries.The President of Pakistan gets paid PKR 896,550 per year, while the Prime Minister is paid PKR 201,574 per year. In comparison, the Chief Justice of Pakistan gets paid PKR 1,527,399 per year, and Supreme Court judges are paid PKR 1,470,711. Federal ministers are paid PKR 338,125 per month, legislators are paid PKR 188,000 per month, and grade-22 officials are paid PKR 591,475.During a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, the absence of the Supreme Court of Pakistan registrar for the audit of more than ten years of expenditures drew criticism from committee members. The registrar has been summoned for a subsequent meeting and warned that warrants may be issued if he fails to appear. The committee also inquired into the benefits and privileges enjoyed by Pakistans President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice of Pakistan, and other Supreme Court justices. Audit objections were raised regarding the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund, which led to inquiries about the opening of a private account in addition to the government account.The PAC chairman emphasised that the committee should hold all institutions accountable, including the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The accountant general of Pakistan submitted statistics on the Supreme Courts mandatory expenses from 2010-11 to 2020-21, and the committee stated that its decisions would be consistent with the Constitution.
