Raisina Dialogue 2024: The eagerly awaited Raisina Dialogue, India's premier conference on geopolitics and geo-strategy, commences today for its ninth edition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the three-day event, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). Joining the inaugural session as the Chief Guest will be Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), who will deliver the keynote address.

Raisina Dialogue 2024: Exploring the 3rd edition of the event

The Purpose: The Raisina Dialogue serves as an annual platform in Delhi aimed at tackling the pressing issues confronting the global community. It brings together a diverse array of stakeholders from politics, business, media, and civil society to engage in discussions and explore avenues for collaboration on contemporary challenges.

Theme of 2024: The overarching theme for the 2024 edition is “Chaturanga: Conflict, Contest, Cooperate, Create”. Over the course of three days, participants will delve into six thematic pillars, including discussions on tech frontiers, environmental sustainability, peace and conflict, multilateralism, future agendas, and the defense of democracy.

Distinguished Participants: With over 2,500 distinguished individuals from approximately 115 countries, the conference boasts an impressive lineup of ministers, former heads of state, military leaders, technology innovators, scholars, and strategic experts. Notable attendees include Prime Minister Modi, Greece Prime Minister Mitsotakis, along with a host of Union ministers and chiefs of India's defense forces.

Global Concerns: The 2024 edition of the Raisina Dialogue will delve into critical global issues, including the role of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) amidst ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. Participants will also deliberate on the West's response to China's assertive actions in the Indo-Pacific region and strategies to maintain a technological and economic edge over China.

Focus on Russian-Ukraine Conflict: Against the backdrop of the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a dedicated panel will examine the multifaceted implications of the Russian-Ukraine conflict. Discussions will revolve around the impact on Russia's socio-political landscape, military dynamics, and broader implications for regional stability.

As the dialogue unfolds, stakeholders will engage in nuanced discussions aimed at fostering greater understanding and collaboration on the most pressing issues facing the global community.
