They documented the killings of innocent civilians, and for their bravery and journalistic excellence, they were honoured with the prestigious public service award.Evgeniy Maloletka was also a part of the Associated Press crew that received the Pulitzer Prize in Ukraine for breaking news photography. Neil Brown, co-chair of the Pulitzer committee and president of the Poynter Institute, spoke out in solidarity with the Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who was held by Russian officials and suspected of espionage while on duty. The US has opposed Gershkovichs arrest and has requested that the case be dropped.
