Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, has been virtually unknown for a very long time. The reason was his associations with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the court settlement by Virginia Giuffre, accusing him of sexual assault. He was also criticised by the people and soon after lost his royal position.

Royal spotting

Recently, he was seen traveling to a church service close to Balmoral, where the Royal Family spends their summer vacations, in a car with the Prince and Princess of Wales. This led some people to speculate that he might be close to making a comeback.

Can the prodigal prince return?

The comeback rumours were later put to rest by Anna Whitelock, a professor at the City University of London. Anna specialises in modern monarchy history and is a royal commentator. She claims that the public is not prepared for his return and that the Royal Family would be taking a big risk by attempting to help him change.

Are people ready for his reappearance?

Anna Whitelock mentioned that Prince Andrew’s scandal shouldn’t end up costing King Charles’ reign because he is still working on forging his own royal character. One insider claimed that Prince Andrew’s situation hasn’t changed and that the vehicle ride was not an attempt to reach out with a hand of friendship or motive. Although he may go to a family gathering, this does not necessarily indicate he will resume his royal duties.

Prince William is not in a forgiving mood anytime soon

Prince Andrew’s public engagements have reportedly angered Prince William, who is second in line to the throne.

According to his findings, he threatened to skip the Order of the Garter celebration from the previous year if Andrew participated in the march. Andrew was kept out of the spotlight and was portrayed as the family’s decision.

Even though The Duke of York rejected all allegations of wrongdoing, Restoring Prince Andrew’s reputation would be difficult. Prince Andrew’s reputation has been severely damaged by the public, and few people are still willing to accept his recovery.

The prince in shadows lately

The duke is said, has learned from his own mistakes. After spending many years quietly helping others in London’s East End, he gradually repaired his reputation and was awarded the rank of Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth in 1975.

Prince Andrew might want to resume his royal responsibilities, but it appears that he still has a long way to go before he can win back the public’s confidence and faith. He continues to remain the Royal Family’s invisible man as of now.
