Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak held a telephone conversation on Friday to discuss the escalating tensions in West Asia and the need to stabilize the region. They spoke about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and expressed deep concerns about terrorism while also commenting on the loss of civilian lives in this conflict.

PM Modi also congratulated Sunak on completing a year of his tenure as the Prime Minister of the UK and also had discussions to strengthen the bilateral relation between the two countries.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to continue to strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UK, including in the areas of trade, investment, emerging technology, defence, security, health and others.
Apart from this they also welcomed the progress being made for an early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement.
In the end, Modi and Sunak exchanged greetings for the upcoming Deepavali and agreed to remain in touch.
