Pakistan: 10 cops killed, 6 injured in attack on police station

According to the information, the attack on a police station in the Dera Ismail Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa happened at 3 AM.

The Pakistan police announced on Monday that up to ten police officers had been killed and six more injured in an attack on a police station in the Dera Ismail Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the sources, at 3 in the morning, police in the Daraban tehsil were attacked by terrorists using heavy weaponry, as per police.

The police further stated that the injured have been moved to DHQ Hospital.

With grenades and heavy gunfire, the terrorists stormed the police station from all sides.

The law enforcement agency stated that although the police responded, the terrorists managed to flee during the night.

According to the police, the fast response team has arrived with extra force, and they have now sealed off the area and begun a search and rescue operation to find the terrorists who are running away, as per sources.

It is to be noted here that according to media reports, Pakistan has experienced an increase in terror assaults, with at least 93 terrorist attacks occurring there in January of this year, resulting in 90 fatalities and 135 injuries.

In addition, it has been stated that in January 2024, 15 people were kidnapped.
