In Pakistans Karachi, a principal of a private school, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, was apprehended on Monday for allegedly raping and blackmailing several women, according to media reports.School principal arrested for raping, blacking women in PakistanReportedly, more than 45 women have fallen victim to sexual assault by the principal, identified as Ghafoor Memon, who used a CCTV camera to blackmail them. Following his arrest, the police have also confiscated the digital video recorder (DVD) of the CCTV cameras as well as the accuseds phone for the probe.This shocking scandal came to light after a video of Memon and a female teacher surfaced all over the internet. Soon after, the principals office was sealed and he was sent to a seven-day physical remand.During the probe, the accused claimed that he rented the school for PKR 100,000 per month, adding that there were almost 10 female teachers, five male teachers and 250 students in the school.Scandal video goes viral on social mediaAs the scandal video went viral, the police took to cognisance and lodged an FIR against Memon on grounds of sexual abuse, threatening, and blackmailing.Speaking to the media, an investigative officer said that the accused principal, Memon, would sexually abuse female teachers on the pretext of providing a job. “The accused used to blackmail the women by filming videos,” said the IO.A probe committee to be formedAmid this case, Sindh Education Minister Rana Hussain has directed the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh to constitute a committee to investigate the matter, comprising Deputy Director Qurban Ali Bhutto and assistant directors Javed Akhtar and Mumtaz Hussain Qambrani.Further, the IO said that more suspects have come to light who might have DVR and several videos of the victims and assured that at least two suspects would be arrested soon.5 women reported against principalSenior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Hassan Sardar said that over five women had come forward alleging sexual abuse by the accused principal.“So far, five women have come forward as victims of the suspect who is currently under investigation. We are also gathering necessary information from the victims as well,” the SSP said.Speaking to Geo News, Assistant Commissioner Nazir Abro said that the district administration will investigate the incident and will also contact the education department so that the students can continue their education.
