After resigning as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, along with six others have been booked for the murder of a grocery store owner. According to the sources, Abu Sayed, the owner of a local store lost his life during a police shootout in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka on July 19. 

Notably, this marks the first legal action against the former prime minister who fled from the country after resigning from her post on August 5, amid unrest and protests by the students in the country. 

According to the sources, the police have also named several other high-profile individuals, including Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kama. Additionally, the former inspector general of police (IGP), Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, and Harunor Rashid, the former DB chief.

Habibur Rahman, the former DMP commission and Biplob Kumar Sarker, the ex-DMP joint commissioner are among the figures that are name in the FIR.

The case against Hasina was filed by Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Mohammadpur, in the Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate. Shatil's complaint stated that Abu Sayeed, aged 19, was killed when police opened indiscriminate fire on students and civilians during the quota protests. 

According to the report, the police acted on orders from the IGP and Home Minister. Although Shatil was not personally connected to the victim, he filed the case voluntarily as a concerned Bangladeshi citizen.
