What does the report say?

The prohibition of K-pop in North Korea began during the rule of former leader Kim Jong II, to shield citizens from what was perceived as harmful aspects of Western culture. This restriction was further tightened by his successor, Kim Jong Un. In 2020, Kim Jong Un implemented a new law that explicitly forbids what is termed as "reactionary ideology and culture," as reported by the New York Post.

North Korea has refused accusations of serious human rights abuses, asserting that they are part of a plot to topple the government.

The report highlights that in North Korea, mobile phones are regularly checked for contact names, phrases, and slang words that are deemed to have originated from South Korea.

Kim Jong Un throws his General in Piranha filled fish tank

Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly executed a general accused of plotting a coup by throwing him into a fish tank filled with piranhas. This unusual execution method took place at Kim's residence in Ryongsong. The incident reflects Kim's ruthless approach to maintaining power and dealing with perceived threats within his regime. Such extreme measures highlight the secretive and authoritarian nature of North Korea's leadership under Kim Jong Un. The execution adds to the regime's history of using brutal tactics to suppress dissent and maintain control over its population.
