Crowd absence highlights Lula’s struggle for public support

The absence of a cheering crowd has been seen by some as a reflection of broader discontent with Lula's government. Critics argue that the administration's reliance on mainstream media and political allies, rather than genuine grassroots support, emphasises a growing disconnect between the government and the public. "Without the backing of the Brazilian people, Lula is left with little more than media supporters and political figures who have aligned themselves with him," said one observer.

Empty seats draw international attention

The lack of public turnout for Lula's Independence Day celebrations has not gone unnoticed on the international stage. Observers worldwide have commented on the contrast between the intended celebration and the reality of an empty parade. Despite the significant political and media presence, the absence of public engagement has cast a shadow over the event.
