New Delhi: As Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign picks up momentum, an Indian-American leader has released a Bollywood-inspired song to garner support from the South Asian community. The song, titled Nacho Nacho, was launched by Ajay Bhutoria, a member of the National Finance Committee for Harris’s campaign, and aims to energize nearly five million South Asian voters in critical states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

Kamala Harris represented as a symbol of hope

The 1.5-minute video features glimpses from Harris's campaign and includes a Hindi song called Hamari Ye Kamala Harris. It incorporates a reimagined version of the popular Naatu Naatu track from the hit movie RRR, renamed Nacho Nacho. Produced by Ritesh Parikh and sung by Shibani Kashyap, the video also includes messages from community leaders in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Hindi.

Bhutoria highlighted Harris as a symbol of hope for Indian-Americans, stating, "She is a symbol of hope and representation for more than 4.4 million Indian Americans. We are using Bollywood music to unite and engage our community in this critical election."

Bhutoria also plans to release additional Bollywood music videos to drive voter turnout for Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz. "We will ensure South Asian voters are fully mobilized. In 2020, our Bollywood-based campaign videos went viral, and this year, we will make sure every South Asian vote counts," he added.
