As Morocco has witnessed a massive earthquake in decades, its aftermath is shocking as more than 2,100 people have lost their lives. Amid this widespread devastation, which even swallowed the capital city Rabat, the teams of the search operation are working day and night to rescue the people trapped under the debris, according to the media reports.Death toll soars over 2,100 in Morocco earthquakeAccording to a revised report by the ministry on Sunday, Fridays earthquake was the largest ever to hit the country of North Africa, resulting in at least 2,122 fatalities and more than 2,400 injuries, many of them critically, prompting the first foreign rescuers to fly in to assist.The 6.8-magnitude earthquake destroyed entire communities in the Atlas Mountains slopes 72 kilometres (45 miles) southwest of Marrakesh, a popular tourist destination, Al Jazeera reported.A magnitude 4.5 aftershock struck the same area on Sunday.
