Prabhakar Raghavan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is widely regarded as a thought leader in search algorithms and data mining, having served in influential roles at Yahoo Labs and IBM before joining Google. Raghavan is a Fellow of both the ACM and IEEE, and his academic contributions, including over 100 published papers and 20 patents, make him one of the foremost experts in search technology.
Before his recent promotion, Raghavan played a critical role in Google’s success. As Vice President of Google Cloud, he oversaw the growth of Gmail and Google Drive to over 1 billion monthly active users. His leadership in Ads & Commerce drove significant growth in Google’s advertising and shopping services, while maintaining the company’s core values of user trust and fair exchange.
