New Delhi: A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning in Akron, Ohio, leaving one person dead and 26 others injured in a mass shooting at the intersection of Kelly and 8th avenues.
According to an official statement from the Akron Police Department, a 27-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries.
As of early Sunday morning, no suspects have been apprehended, as reported by News 5 Cleveland, a news partner of the Akron Beacon Journal. The police officials are vehemently involved in the investigation of the mass shooting and search for the accused is underway. So far the police officials have not traced any links related to the whereabouts of the man who fired the shots.

Police officers rushed to the scene after receiving numerous 911 calls reporting gunfire and multiple casualties. Shortly after, a surge of injured individuals who were attack by the assailant, began arriving at local hospitals.
The Akron Police Department confirmed the recovery of a firearm and several dozen spent casings from the scene.
