Man shoots newlywed NRI in suspected road rage, video surfaces

New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from the US state of Indiana where a 29-year-old man of Indian descent named Gavin Dasaur who originally belonged to Uttar Pradesh's Agra district was tragically shot dead in a suspected road rage incident on Tuesday. 

The fatal shooting occurred at an intersection on the southeast side of Indianapolis, where an altercation between Dasaur and the accused had taken place, while he was driving home with his newlywed wife, Viviana ZaMora, whom he had married just two weeks prior on June 29. It led to the devastating consequence of Dasaur's death, just as he was starting his new life with his wife.

A viral video of the incident on social media shows Dasaur exiting his vehicle and confronting the truck driver, yelling and punching the truck's door with his fist. In a sudden and deadly turn of events, the truck driver responded by shooting Dasaur, claiming his life.

The incident unfolded at an intersection on the southeast side of Indianapolis, where Dasaur engaged in a heated argument with the driver of a pickup truck. Dasaur was immediately rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, leaving his loved ones in a state of shock and grief.

Widow's Heartbreak

The victim's widow, Viviana ZaMora, who witnessed the tragic incident  described the harrowing experience to the police, saying, "I held him as he bled out and I was waiting for the ambulance." 

Police releases accused after reevaluating evidence

After further examination and discussion with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, the police released the accused, as evidence indicated that the individual's actions could be considered self-defense, complicating the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. 

The police spokesperson elaborated on the decision to release the accused, explaining that upon further examination of the circumstances surrounding the incident, it was deemed that the individual's actions might have been justified as self-defense, leading to their release from custody.
