Indian-born US Congressman from the State of Illinois, Raja Krishnamoorthi, while providing his perspective on the potential dangers posed by Khalistani activists on Indian diplomats, has firmly maintained that the fringe Khalistani militants do not represent the overall sentiments of Sikh Americans, as per a report by Punjab-based news outlet Khalsa Vox.

Krishnamoorthi, who had previously condemned the attack on the Indian consulate in San Francisco by Khalistani militants, was questioned about the growing frequency of attacks on Indian diplomatic premises by Khalistani militants. Such attacks have been seen in the US, as well as the UK and Canada.

Congressman Krishnamoorthi, who was born in New Delhi, said that those who held pro-Khalistani views represented a tiny segment of the Sikh diaspora in the US, and these fringe elements did not represent the broader sentiments of Sikh Americans. He said that the overwhelming majority of Sikh Americans, as well as Indian Americans at large, outright reject the violence and intolerance that have been demonstrated by the Khalistan activists.

Congressman Krishnamoorthi condemns ‘Kill India’ banners by Khalistan militants

US Congress Krishnamoorthi outright condemned the various acts of vandalism and threats propagated by the Khalistani elements in the country, referring to the recent banners that have been seen in the US where the statement ‘Kill India’ was seen.

He emphasised that peaceful dialogue is the only way to solve the conflicts and international problems caused by the rising pro-Khalistan rallies around the Western world.

Khalistani activism has reared its ugly head across North America, the UK, and Australia after Khalistan Tiger Force chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in Canada. Khalistani militants have accused, without any proof, the Indian government of orchestrating the murder.
