The world's safest countries have been published in a list. However, the US, UK or other influential European nations do not top it. The first place is taken by Andorra, a small nation located between Spain and France. Based on the Nambio Security Index, Andorra has been ranked as the safest nation in the world. The list of safe nations is drawn up based on the crime rate and living standard of the nation. Surprisingly, India's position in this list is well ahead of the US and the UK.

Taiwan is placed fourth and Oman fifth. Though Taiwan is not recognized by the international community as an independent country, it still acts as an independent entity vis-a-vis China. India is placed above the US and the UK.
The US, with the most powerful military and advanced technological might, is outside the top 50 safest countries. The US is ranked at number 89 among the world's safest countries. But the UK is number 87. India is far ahead of them in the ratings. India ranks number 66 among the safest countries in the world.
Interestingly, Pakistan is 65th in this ranking, one place ahead of India. India's other neighbour China is 15th on the list. Venezuela is last among 147 nations on the list. It is followed by Papua New Guinea (146), Haiti (145), Afghanistan (144) and South Africa (143).
