New Delhi: Renowned American election forecaster Allan Lichtman, famously dubbed the "Nostradamus of US presidential polls," has made a bold prediction: Kamala Harris will emerge victorious in the upcoming presidential race and become the next President of the United States. Lichtman’s forecast, known for its historical accuracy, was revealed in a recent video for the New York Times.

“Kamala Harris will be the next President of the United States,” Lichtman stated in his video. With the presidential election scheduled for November 5, American voters have just two months to decide who will succeed Joe Biden in the White House. The race is primarily between Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and Republican contender Donald Trump.

Lichtman’s ‘Keys to the White House’

Allan Lichtman has earned a reputation for his predictive prowess in US presidential elections over the past 40 years. Using his "Keys to the White House" model, Lichtman accurately predicted Donald Trump’s 2016 victory and Joe Biden’s 2020 win. His forecasting method is highly regarded for its accuracy and has been a staple in political analysis.

'13 Keys to the White House' method

As a history professor at American University for 50 years, Lichtman developed the "13 Keys to the White House" method. This model uses 13 true/false questions to determine the likely outcome of an election. If six or more keys are unfavorable to the incumbent party, Lichtman predicts a loss for that party. Conversely, if fewer than six keys are against the incumbent, the party is expected to win.

Kamala Harris vs Donald Trump

In his video explanation, Lichtman detailed how his model applies to the current race. According to the "13 Keys to the White House," Kamala Harris has eight keys in her favor. On the other hand, Donald Trump faces five negative keys, suggesting that he is unlikely to reclaim the White House.
