Yahya Sinwar death: Khalil Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, has confirmed the death of Yahya Sinwar, the influential leader of the group, during an Israeli military operation. Sinwar, who played a pivotal role in Hamas, was reportedly killed by Israeli Special Forces in a targeted strike near Gaza.

According to Hayya, "Yahya Sinwar sacrificed his life for Palestine, standing steadfast and brave until the very end. He was elected by God Almighty to join the ranks of martyrs and inspired his fellow resistance fighters in the ongoing battle for the homeland." Sinwar, Hayya stated, was actively involved in leading the "Al-Aqsa floods operation" and remained on the frontlines, fighting until his final breath.

Reports indicate that Israeli Special Forces, backed by helicopters, conducted a high-risk mission targeting Sinwar and other top Hamas leaders. While Israeli authorities have yet to officially confirm Sinwar’s death, sources such as The New York Times have indicated that a body believed to be Sinwar’s is currently undergoing DNA testing.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant underscored Israel’s determination to neutralize key figures within Hamas, stating, “We will reach every terrorist — and eliminate him.” This sentiment has been echoed by other Israeli leaders, emphasizing Israel’s commitment to its ongoing military operations in Gaza.

The confirmation of Sinwar’s death marks a significant development in the intensifying conflict, as Hamas continues to hold captives and demands the cessation of Israeli attacks on Gaza.
