Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday congratulated the state corporation of the Russian Federation, notably Russian counterpart Roscosmos, who is responsible for space flights, for the successful launch of Luna-25, its Lunar mission almost after five decades.“Congratulations, Roscosmos on the successful launch of Luna-25 💐Wonderful to have another meeting point in our space journies. Wishes for Chandrayaan-3 & Luna-25 missions to achieve their goals,” the space agency said on X.Congratulations, Roscosmos on the successful launch of Luna-25 💐Wonderful to have another meeting point in our space journeys Wishes for 🇮🇳Chandrayaan-3 & 🇷🇺Luna-25 missions to achieve their goals.— ISRO (@isro) August 11, 2023Noteworthy is, that the spacecraft by Russia has been launched just after weeks of Chandrayaan-3 launch.According to the information, the spacecraft will spend between three and seven days about 100 kilometres above the lunar surface before reaching the Boguslawsky crater area. Meanwhile, Manzinus and Pentland-A craters have been named as alternative landing sites.Experts claims that the primary goal of the mission is to polish the soft-landing technology. According to the sources, after the landing, the mission might become the first spacecraft ever to reach near the South Pole of the Earths natural satellite.Notably, the lunar mission launched by India and Russia will operate separately and will not interfere with each other and land separately.Meanwhile, during a press conference on Tuesday, Bill Nelson, the NASA administrator, prematurely congratulated Russia for a successful Luna-25 launch. “We wish them well,” he said. The @NASAArtemis mission signifies a leap forward in space exploration as the first lunar crew in over 50 years. Our astronauts will set the stage for future lunar surface missions.
