Health authorities in Gaza reported a tragic incident on Thursday, stating that Israeli fire targeted people awaiting aid near Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of 104 Palestinians and injuring 280 others. One hospital stated that it received 10 bodies and numerous injured patients in the aftermath.

Israel's military spokesperson denied knowledge of shelling at the location initially, later attributing injuries to a chaotic situation during aid distribution in northern Gaza. Israeli reports claimed troops fired at individuals deemed threatening.

Palestinian president calls it 'ugly massacre'

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' office condemned the incident as an 'ugly massacre' by the Israeli army against aid recipients at the Nabulsi roundabout.

The Gaza Health Ministry identified the location of the incident as the al-Nabusi roundabout west of Gaza City, where medical teams struggled to manage the influx of wounded individuals at al-Shifa Hospital.

Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza City received 10 deceased bodies and numerous injured patients, indicating the severity of the situation. The extent of casualties in other hospitals remains unclear.

Hamas holds Israel responsible for failure in talks

Hamas warned that the incident could derail negotiations for the ceasefire and hostage release, holding Israel responsible for any failure in talks. It said, "The negotiations conducted by the movement's leadership are not an open process at the expense of the blood of our people."

Video shows trucks transporting bodies

Videos circulating on social media depicted trucks transporting bodies, corroborating the devastation at the al-Nabulsi roundabout. Moreover, unverified footage showed wounded individuals being treated and bodies being prepared for burial.

In the video, an individual can be seen, saying, "We don't want aid like this. We don't want aid and bullets together. There are many martyrs."

In response, an Israeli military spokesperson denied knowledge of shelling in the area, while the tragic events continue to draw condemnation and scrutiny.
