Israeli raid kills 6 in West Bank: Palestinian Health Ministry

According to media reports, a significant number of Israeli security forces mobilised in west bank's Jenin during the fatal raid.

Early Sunday morning, an Israeli military raid into Jenin resulted in the deaths of six Palestinian citizens, according to an announcement from the Palestinian Health Ministry.

"An Israeli occupation bombardment on a group of citizens killed six people in Jenin," said the Palestinian Authority-run Ministry of Health, which is based in the West Bank.

According to media reports, a significant number of Israeli security forces mobilised in Jenin during the fatal raid.

West Bank tensions 

West Bank Tensions The incident comes amid escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, stemming from an attack launched into Israel from Gaza by the militant group Hamas on October 7th. Over 1,140 civilian deaths resulted from the assault based on official Israeli government figures.

Israel responds with airstrikes

In response, Israel initiated a bombing campaign and ground invasion of Gaza which Gaza's Health Ministry claims has killed over 22,000 Gazans, predominantly women and children. Over 300 Palestinians are reported to have died in raids across the West Bank over the same period.

Jenin faces repeated Israeli operations

The city of Jenin and its surrounding refugee camp have been subjected to recurring raids by Israeli security personnel since the beginning of recent hostilities. Israel has maintained control over the West Bank territory since capturing it during 1967's Six Day War.
