Israel forces fatally shot four Palestinians, including two teenagers, during clashes in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, Palestinian health officials reported.

The violence erupted as tensions remained high over the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 16-year-old Omar Abu Bakr died after being struck in the chest by Israeli gunfire in the town of Yabad.

In the Balata refugee camp near Nablus, 24-year-old Abdul Nasser Mustafa Riyahi succumbed to wounds suffered when Israeli troops surrounded a house in the camp, as per media reports.

Witnesses said clashes broke out between residents and soldiers who opened fire, injuring four people including Riyahi.

Israeli occupation kills more in West Bank

Earlier, Israeli forces killed two other Palestinians - 16-year-old Abdul Rahman Imad Khaled Bani Odeh and 23-year-old Moath Ibrahim Zahran - during a raid in the village of Tamun, the Health Ministry said.

An AFP correspondent in Tamun reported seeing clashes erupt between Israeli soldiers making arrests and village residents.

Additionally, three Palestinians were wounded, one seriously, when Israeli troops opened fire in the Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, the ministry said in a separate statement.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the incidents. But the violence comes amid spiking tensions over Israel’s war with Hamas militants in Gaza.

More than 250 Palestinians have now been killed by Israeli fire or settler attacks across the West Bank since that conflict broke out in early October, according to the Palestinian Authority.
