As Israel ended its truce agreement with Hamas on Tuesday they conducted powerful airstrikes during two days that afterward decreased in force but soldiers took full control over a vital Gaza corridor strengthening their military operation.The Israeli military declared success in securing control of the Netzarim Corridor as part of its ground offensive by calling it a specific operation to generate security between Gaza's northern and southern regions.
Israeli defence minister issued a threat on Wednesday saying attacks on Gaza will become even more powerful than the public has ever witnessed unless Hamas releases prisoners while surrendering control of their governing region. Gaza experienced its most destructive day since the beginning of the 17-month conflict when more than 400 Palestinians died as per Gaza's health ministry statistics with women and children making up two-thirds of the victims. Fares Awad who leads the emergency service for northern Gaza reported that a strike during a condolence gathering in Salateen Beit Lahiya primarily killed extended relatives holding an event to mourn the deceased. According to Palestinian first responders the deaths included two children aged 11 and 16 together with a 65-year-old man and his two sons. This information was provided by The Associated Press from Awad. At the beginning of the day an aerial attack in Rafah killed at least five individuals based on data from Palestinian responders.
The Musbah vehicle attack occurred when the armed forces of Hamas launched their attack according to statements from the civil defence agency which operates as the Hamas-run governmental body. Hospital personnel confirmed the deaths at Nasser Hospital located in Khan Younis after they accepted the casualties from the battlefield. Romana Habib and Mohaisen Suleiman the military said were the Hamas militants who received the targeted strike in Rafah as its forces delivered more strikes throughout all Gaza Strip areas.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterrres released a statement to condemn the deadly strike on a Gaza guesthouse Antonio Guterres served as United Nations secretary general to condemn the fatal Gaza strike that hit a guesthouse at the UN facilities and demanded an investigation process while omitting Israel's identity. Israel refuted the claims that its military launched an attack on the building which contradicted earlier information reports. During the period since Israel terminated the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday no Hamas rocket attacks have been recorded. Guterres stated via UN deputy spokesman Farhan Haq that all parties in the conflict know UN premises' locations since they remain committed to protecting these sites under international law. The United Nations has not provided information about the origin of their international employee in Gaza.
