The Israeli military has informed the United Nations, that the entire Northern Gaza with a population of 1.1 million Palestinians should be relocated to the southern territory within 24 hours, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said.Many Palestinians fear that this move is a precursor to a planned ground offence by the Israeli forces, even though the Israeli military has not made any comment on this issue till now. The Israeli military had also amassed tanks near the Gaza border and pounded the Palestinian enclave with air strikes following a deadly Hamas militant attack in Israel.UN on Israel Militarys order The UN spokesman however also said that such a movement is not possible without devastating humanitarian consequences adding that the UN has strongly appealed for the order to be rescinded.“The United Nations considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences,” U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be rescinded avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation,” he said.Moreover, the Israeli military has applied this order of evacuation to all U.N. staff and those sheltered in UN facilities, including schools, health centres and clinics, Dujarric said.The Israel mission to the United Nations in New York has also not commented on this order by the Israeli military yet.Israel-Gaza crisisThe Gaza Strip has been blockaded by the Israeli forces resulting in a humanitarian crisis and shortage of fuel resources as Israel has withheld critical supplies in response to Hamas recent acts of violence.
