The UK Foreign Office has issued an urgent directive for all British nationals in Lebanon to leave immediately as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies. The warning comes after Israel announced the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a major airstrike on Beirut.
Following Israel’s airstrike on Friday night, which reportedly killed Nasrallah, thousands of residents have fled southern Beirut. Essential services in the region are rapidly diminishing, heightening concerns of a humanitarian crisis as the conflict escalates.
In its advisory, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) instructed British nationals to take the next available flights out of Lebanon. The government is coordinating efforts to increase flight capacity and secure additional seats for British citizens who need to evacuate.
British nationals in Lebanon should leave now. You should take the next available flight.

The FCDO has encouraged British nationals to register their presence on its official website to receive timely updates and guidance. The situation remains volatile, and the UK government is preparing for possible evacuations should conditions deteriorate further.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on social media platform X that Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in a Friday night airstrike. The IDF declared that “Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.” Hezbollah has yet to officially comment on Nasrallah’s fate, with sources reporting that contact with the leader was lost following the bombing.
Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.

Israel’s military campaign against Hezbollah has led to widespread destruction, including the leveling of multiple apartment buildings in Beirut. This marks a severe escalation in hostilities, driving the urgency behind the UK's call for British citizens to evacuate Lebanon.
