Israel-Hamas Conflict: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu categorically dismissed the possibility of releasing a large number of Palestinian prisoners, stating that "thousands" would not be set free as part of any agreement to cease hostilities in Gaza. The announcement came during his address at the Eli settlement in the occupied West Bank, where he emphasized the non-negotiable stance on withdrawing the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from the Gaza Strip.

Clear Rejection of Key Concessions

In his resolute statement, Netanyahu made it explicit that the IDF would not retreat from its position in Gaza, and there would be no release of a substantial number of prisoners. The Israeli Prime Minister's firm stance underscores the challenges in reaching a comprehensive truce amid the ongoing conflict.

Hamas Evaluates Paris Proposal

Meanwhile, Hamas, the militant group in control of Gaza, has confirmed that it is currently evaluating a proposal generated during discussions in Paris. The proposal aims to broker a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, attempting to find common ground amid the heightened tensions.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh stated that the movement has received the proposal circulated during the Paris meeting and is actively examining its contents. The group is expected to deliver its response following a thorough assessment of the proposed terms.

As the conflicting parties navigate diplomatic channels, the prospects for a ceasefire remain uncertain, with Netanyahu's uncompromising position setting a challenging tone for negotiations.
