The Indian IT services company Infosys assured that all its employees are safe in Israel amidst the escalating tensions in the Middle East.Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys stated that the majority of their employees in Israel are locals, though he did not disclose the exact number of staff present in the country. The company expressed its deep concern for the situation unfolding in the region.During the Q2 earnings briefing, the Infosys top official said, “We have business in Israel in that part of the region, and with what is going on there, we are saddened by it. TCS has regularly communicated with its staff, focusing on their safety and their contributions to the communities they reside in.TCS Chief Operating Officer, N Ganapathy Subramaniam told reporters that the company does not anticipate a substantial impact on its business due to the conflict.When asked about the evacuation of its workers from the country, Subramaniam stated that a good number of its staff in Israel are local residents. However, decisions regarding evacuation or remaining in the country would be made on an individual basis. He highlighted that flights from Israel are not operating normally at present, which could pose challenges for any potential evacuation efforts.The conflict in the region began when the terrorist group Hamas launched a surprise air and ground attack on Israel from its base in the Gaza Strip. This resulted killings of more than 1,000 Israels citizens and left thousands injured. In response, Israel carried out air strikes within the Gaza Strip after Hamas brutal terror strikes as the conflict entered its sixth day.
