Israel-Hamas conflict: Gaza truce extended for two days, Qatar confirms

Doha's foreign ministry spokesperson said that Israel and Hamas agreed to extend the truce for an additional two days.

As the four-day truce between Israel and Hamas enters into day 3, Qatar has successfully managed to negotiate an agreement between Israel and Hamas regarding the extension of the four-day truce.  

Doha's foreign ministry spokesperson said that Israel and Hamas agreed to extend the truce for an additional two days.

The spokesperson Majed Al Ansari posted on microblogging platform X, "The State of Qatar announces, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip."

Ten more Israeli hostages to be released on Tuesday

As per the reports from The Times of Israel, at least ten more Israeli hostages will be released on Tuesday followed by another ten on Wednesday while 30 Palestinian prisoners will be freed by Israel on each day as well.

Furthermore, the report added, that although Hamas makes a statement announcing the truce extension, there is no immediate response from Israel. The statement credits the work of Qatari and Egyptian mediators.

Israel PMO notifies relatives of hostages 

Meanwhile, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office has declared that Israeli officials have notified the relatives of the hostages scheduled for release in the coming hours, as the agreement looks to be back on track after an earlier disagreement.

On the other hand, the reports of The Times of Israel cited that earlier Hamas was trying to separate mothers from their children during today's release. 

Hebrew media also reported that 11 Israeli hostages will be released shortly including nine children and two women, who are the mothers of some of the children.
