New Delhi: Israels military claimed responsiblity for an airstrike on Beiruts southern suburbs Tuesday evening, which killed Hezbollahs senior commander Fuad Shukr. At least one person was killed and a number of others wounded in the explosion in Dahiyeh, a stronghold of the Labenese armed group. When it took place The airstrike took place at around 7:40 pm local times, sending a loud blast and a plume of smoke above the stronghold of Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group. The targeted strike which hit near Hezbollahs Shura Council in Haret Hriek. It also resulted in the deaths of the three civilians, including two children. Lebanons PM condemns Lebanons Prime Minister Nijab Mikati condemned the blantant Israeli aggression and described it as criminal act. He also said that it is clear and explicit violation of international law. However, it is still not clear if Fuad Shukr was killed in the attack or not as Hezbollah has not yet made any statement regarding it. Attack raised tensions in Middle East The attack has raised tensions in the Middle East, with fears of further escalation. Beirut has been tense following the deadly rocket attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Israel and the United States have blamed Hezbollah for the attack, but the group has denied responsiblity.
