Is blood moon prophecy real? NASA debunks apocalyptic predictions; Deets inside

One of the most vocal figures fueling this theory is Reverend Efraid Rodriguez, who has shared a vision of a large asteroid striking Puerto Rico. According to Rodriguez, this event will trigger a magnitude 12 earthquake, causing global devastation.

New Delhi: As September 28, 2024, approaches, doomsday conspiracists are sounding alarms over a series of catastrophic predictions tied to the “Blood Moon Prophecy.” This theory claims that the world will face devastating events following the appearance of the final lunar eclipse in a series of four, known as blood moons, that have occurred over the past 18 months. The last blood moon is expected to occur on this date, giving rise to apocalyptic fears.

Prophet predicts asteroid impact

One of the most vocal figures fueling this theory is Reverend Efraid Rodriguez, who has shared a vision of a large asteroid striking Puerto Rico. According to Rodriguez, this event will trigger a magnitude 12 earthquake, causing global devastation. He claims that a series of six asteroids, the largest being up to 2.5 miles wide, will collide with Earth on September 28. Rodriguez has even urged NASA to take his warnings seriously.

NASA dismisses apocalyptic claims

NASA, however, has firmly rejected these claims. Paul Chodas, head of NASA’s Near-Earth Object office, stated there is no scientific evidence or data to support the prediction of an asteroid impact on this date. NASA's monitoring systems, which constantly track celestial bodies, have found no signs of any potential threats. “If such a large asteroid were heading for Earth, we would have detected it well in advance,” Chodas assured.

Blood moon prophecy: A fringe theory

The Blood Moon Prophecy is not supported by mainstream science. While some theorists tie lunar eclipses to doomsday events, experts have debunked these claims, pointing out that lunar eclipses are natural phenomena without connection to disasters. Despite these alarming predictions, the scientific community stands by NASA’s data, reassuring the public that no imminent danger exists.
