Iran’s leader Khamenei calls for revenge after assassination of Hamas leader

The announcement from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came after Hamas confirmed the news in one of the posts on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, mentioning that Hamas political leader leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an 'air strike' in Tehran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has vowed retaliation following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. Khamenei declared that Israel would face severe repercussions for this act. In a statement, he said, “The Zionist regime prepared the ground for a harsh punishment for itself. We consider it our duty to revenge for the blood of our dear guest.” 

Notably, the political leader of the Palestinian extremist group Hamas was killed when he was in Tehran to attend the July 30 inauguration ceremony for Iran's new president, Musaud Pezeshkian. 

Meanwhile, it is important to note that the announcement from Khamenei came after Hamas confirmed the news in one of the posts on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, mentioning Haniyeh was killed in an 'air strike' in Tehran.

In a string of tweets, the Irans’ Supreme offered his condolences to the Islamic Unnah, the Resident Front and said that he was always willing to sacrifice his honourable life in his dignified battle for many years. He also mentioned that after the tragic event which has taken place within the borders of the Islamic Republic, it is our duty to take revenge.

He also came down heavily on the terrorist Zionist regime martyred, but he has also prepared for the ground of a severe punishment.

However, the official statement on the same is yet awaited from the Israeli government, but the Government Press Office's official Facebook handle displayed his photo with a stamp on his forehead 'Eliminated.' Following this, the chief Khamenei has also vowed revenge against Israel over the killing.

Meanwhile, the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also condemned the attack and termed it as a heinous crime and flagrant violation of the humanitarian law.
