Indian-Origin Father, Daughter Gunned Down in Virginia Store; Suspect in Custody

Indian Origin Man Shot Dead in US : An Indian-origin man and his daughter were shot dead at a convenience store in the US, sending shockwaves across the Indian community in Virginia. According to news agency PTI, 56-year-old Pradipkumar Patel and his daughter were working at their relative's store on Lankford Highway in Accomack County, Virginia, when the incident took place.

Tragic Shooting in Virginia

The county sheriff's office received a call about the shooting at 5:30 a.m. on March 20. When they arrived, they found Patel had been shot and was unconscious. While they were searching the building, they found his daughter at the scene, who had also been shot.Patel was pronounced dead at the scene, however the daughter, who was not identified at the time, was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She later died from her injuries.

Police also announced Thursday that they had arrested a man in connection with the shooting. County Sheriff W. Todd Wessels said the man, George Frazier Devon White, 44, of Onancock, was being held without bail.

The motive behind the firing is not known
Store owner Paresh Patel said in an interview with Virginia's local news channel WAYV-TV, 'My cousin's wife and his father were working this morning and some people came here and opened fire.'
